Self Assessment and Reflection

After completing the Myers-Briggs personality assessment, I gained valuable insight into my personal strengths and tendencies. My results identified my type as “The Dynamo,” characterized by high energy, adaptability, and a strong preference for working effectively under pressure. I approach challenges with enthusiasm and a solution-focused mindset, consistently bringing momentum and determination to any task.

I believe these qualities will serve me well as a practitioner. I am not deterred by difficult assignments or complex cases; instead, I am motivated to engage fully and persist until I find an effective path forward. Additionally, my natural drive and optimism enable me to encourage and energize those around me, including clients and colleagues.

These traits will be especially useful in situations that require creativity and flexible thinking. I am eager to explore new ideas, open to trying innovative approaches, and committed to always acting in the best interest of my clients.

I also completed an assessment to determine my preferred learning style, and the results indicated that I am a tactile learner. This means I benefit most from hands-on experiences and from having materials physically present in front of me. I tend to retain information more effectively through active engagement rather than through reading or listening alone, which is why I often take detailed notes or manipulate objects to better understand how they function.

Fortunately, occupational therapy is inherently hands-on. The profession requires frequent physical interaction with clients, as well as the demonstration of techniques and interventions. This alignment makes occupational therapy an ideal field for someone with a tactile learning style. It allows me to use my strengths to enhance both my own learning and the quality of care I provide, ensuring that clients can fully engage in and benefit from their treatment sessions.
